Enrich Your Retirement Years… What A Reverse Mortgage Can Do For You

al-arciniagaIssue 32.09

We each have a few things we would like to do when we retire.  Here are a few things my clients shared they would like to do prior to or after retiring to put in our bucket list: go on a vacation, visit grandkids, go on a mission, pay off a line of credit, buy a better car, buy a second home or investment property or just be financially secure.  Actually, having the funds to fulfill these dreams may cause you to rethink or prioritize your list.  Take just a moment and think about what you would like to do.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to add another layer of security to your retirement?  Do you have enough of a retirement to last the rest of your life?  There are some great options to help insure your peace of mind.  Get your paperwork and sit down with your financial planner or trusted advisor.  Do you have a trust and will and is it up to date?

Let me share a situation from one of my clients.  A married couple lost a significant portion of their hard-earned retirement funds.  Their age would probably not allow them to recoup that money.  They came to our initial meeting not knowing all the advantages of this federally insured program.  They needed access to their funds at any time, because of their age they did not want to commit their money to a long-term fund or to be penalized for using their own money.  A reverse mortgage gave them immediate access to liquid funds; the line of credit grew at ½% higher than the loan interest rate, which was double what the banks could offer.  They told me, “We had no idea that a reverse mortgage offered so many benefits.  We are glad we took the time to research this program.  We are going to tell all our friends.”

Take a little time to find out if a reverse mortgage could help you live a more secure life.  We are dedicated to educating people on the benefits of this insured and regulated program.
