Wearing Rings Over Arthritis Affected Knuckles… McArthur Jewelers Has The Answer

Issue 46.10

One of the common problems individuals face as they age is the increased size of the knuckles due to arthritis. This causes problems for removing or putting on rings. When the ring is made large enough to go over the knuckle, it is too loose to wear properly behind the knuckle, causing the ring to turn and the stones end up on the bottom of the finger.

There are several commercial products available to help correct the problem and they vary in their effectiveness and costs to implement. In all of our years working in this industry- one product has proven to be the very best permanent solution.

The SuperFit Shank® is virtually invisible to detect. It blends into the ring and yet, at the push of a button opens the ring to bypass the knuckle and fit perfectly on the finger. For any significant ring, there is a way to wear it regardless of the size and shape of the knuckles.

One young woman recently was in our store and wanted an engagement ring, her challenge was that while playing basketball, her finger had been jammed several times, permanently enlarging the knuckle on her ring finger. When she saw how easy it was to have the bridal set of her choice corrected to a Super fit Shank® she was Thrilled!

Another woman had such bad arthritis that she had put her rings into her jewelry box not knowing how she would ever wear her rings again. When she saw how easy it would be to convert her rings and how securely the Superfit Shank® held her precious stones, she was amazed and delighted.

There are different ways to adjust for enlarged knuckles- however the very best way we have found is the Superfit Shank®
