Senior Week Night Entertainment

Issue 38.11

We have just over 2 weeks left for you to get your entry forms in for Senior Week, we are still waiting for entries to come in for Quilting, Sewing, Knitting baking and the Arts. I know we have plenty of people in this area that do these things so come on get your entry forms in.
The way things are going we shall only be having a Talent Contest a Lawn Bowls Competition and maybe a Dog Show if we don’t receive more entries fast. So please support senior week and join in the fun, don’t forget that most of the entry fees and other money we raise will be helping your local Veterans
Coalition to furbish their new nursing home in Ivins so all your fees are going to a good cause.
I mentioned to you in the last few weeks that we have a Concert arranged for Monday night of Senior Week, November 7th at the Cox Theater staring singer BRODIE PERRY, HEIDI ANDERSON (now playing Ursula in The Little Mermaid at Tuacahn), the HERITAGE CHOIR and the ST. GEORGE DANCE COMPANY.
At the Cox Theater on November the 8th we have our 8 talent finalist competing in the Senior Talent Contest and also performances from our 3 judges singer MICHAEL BALLAM, pianist JAMES O’NEIL MINER and singer/dancer MELINDA LARSEN.
Tickets for each show are $25 and can be bought from the Cox theater box office or online at tickets.dixie.edu
On Wednesday evening November 9th at the Washington Community center we are having a Country Night and BBQ with country dancing to a great live band Classic Country, BBQ/Dutch oven dinner, homemade Root Beer and prize drawings. A great night for all country fans! Tickets are on sale at the Senior Sampler Office $15, there is only room for 250 people so don’t leave it too long to get your ticket.
To end Senior Week on the Saturday Night November 12th at the beautiful Sun River Ballroom we are holding a Gala Ball and Dinner (black tie event). There will be dancing to a live dance band and a delicious three course meal. Tickets are $55 from the Senior Sampler office; again there are only 250 tickets available so get yours as soon as possible if you don’t want to be disappointed.
As you can see we have some great night entertainment lined up for you during Senior Week so please get your tickets and come and join us.
In 3 weeks when I know for sure what competitions we have taking place I will give you information on all the daily events we have for you.
One other thing I would like to ask your help with is the Silent Auction, if anyone has anything they have made like a quilt or a painting or something like that or something you have that has never been used and you think it suitable for a Silent Auction and you would like to donate it please contact or stop by the Senior Sampler office 581 E. 100S. St. George, 673-7604 all donations would be much appreciated and again don’t forget all money raised is going to the local Veterans Nursing Home.
