Helpful Tips When Choosing An Assisted Living

Issue 50.12

We wish all of our residents and their families, both past and present a Happy and Joyful Holiday Season. We want to thank you for all of your support, faith, confidence and the opportunity that you have given to us to care for your loved ones.

We would like to take a moment and share a recent testimonial that we received from our newest resident’s, family member;

 “We have been so blessed to have our mother placed in Platinum Care Assisted Living. Our mother has lived in various other “Assisted Living” homes as well as Nursing/Rehabilitation Facilities in the St. George, UT area. It is not a facility, it is a family environment. The owners Kris and Rick are one on one. They are part of the family. They are always there for their family members (residents) and their extended families as well. The staff is awesome; food is great, well balanced meals, entertainment, loving care, willingness to go the extra mile and so understanding. You are the Best,” Calvin and Wendy Dunbar

We are a Resident Advocate and are more than happy to answer any questions that you may have whether you decide to stay with us or not.  Here are some helpful hints we hope will assist you in choosing an assisted living. We have found that if you take the time and check out the various facilities with your loved one before there is a crisis, both of you will be better informed and able to make the best decision.

 We recommend that you check out several of the facilities and then narrow it down to a few that you feel will be the best fit for your family member and that their needs will be met. Consider the location of the facility to the closeness of your family and friends who will be visiting.  What is the resident to staff ratio? Compare the size of the rooms, do they offer a private bath? Ask if the staff members are CNA’s (Certified Nursing Assistants) or are they caregivers? Are the owners involved with the day to day operations and do they have a medical background with the elderly? Is the owner available for questions? Observe how the staff interacts with the residents.

These are just a few helpful hints for you, feel free to call and ask any questions or for a personal tour of Platinum Care.  Again, we are here for the resident and hope that we can help you in any way. Call Rick or Kris at 313-4823 at Platinum Care Assisted Living, 2046 North Tuweap Drive, St George.
