2014 Celebrating Wellness Expo

Issue 9.14

The “Celebrating Wellness” Expo will take place on Friday March 28th at the St. George Senior Center located at 245 North 200 West.  The event will last from 9am to 2pm and is free to all attendees.  The goal of the Expo is to educate our growing senior population about health issues prior to the need for assistance so that they are knowledgeable about the community resources available.

The Expo will have a variety of vendors offering free health screenings for the purpose of notifying people whether they need to see their doctor or education on healthy choices and resources.  Health screening exams play a principal role in preventative health care for a wide range of common diseases and some that are not so common.   In addition, there will also be local private & public organizations displaying and talking about health related products and services.

Luncheon will be served from 11am to 12:30pm ($3.00 donation is requested) and a variety show will be held in the dining room.

The “Celebrating Wellness” Expo proceeds directly benefit the St. George Senior Center which provides activities, meals, recreations opportunities, dances and classes to over 25,000 citizens from Washington County every year.  The Center also provides about 200 Meals on Wheels per day to homebound seniors in the community.

Drawings for free giveaways and door prizes from local merchants will be conducted throughout the Expo. For more information Contact Shana Bland at the St. George Senior Center 435.634.5743.
