Gifts

Issue 5.15

Twenty years ago my family and I moved from California to St. George in order to work for Metcalf Mortuary as a pre-need advisor. After approximately 6 years of a very good working relationship, I was offered a job with the Huntsman Senior games as the Sports Director. Since I have always loved being involved in sports I accepted, with the good wishes of Metcalf’s. Recently I retired from the games in order to serve a mission for my church, with my wife, Melinda, in Northern California. Once again I have joined the staff of Metcalf Mortuary as a pre-need advisor. I remembered how much I enjoyed serving families with their pre-need funeral planning.

We just experienced a special time of gift giving to those we love the most. As we begin this New Year there is another gift we can give that is the ultimate gift. It is our final gift we can give to those we love at the time of death. We can make our wishes known; avoid emotional overspending and family disagreements. Now is a good time for gathering information, making final arrangements and for funding the funeral. We can make it a final celebration.

It’s a way to get our loved ones involved in a healing, positive way and it gives us peace of mind by funding our funeral now.

The gift of pre-planning now lets you decide how you want to be remembered. The family won’t have to wonder what mom or dad wanted because they will know what mom or dad arranged.

(An interesting side note is 50 plus years ago I took a career guidance test and the number one thing it told me was I should be a funeral director).

Beginning in January many of you will receive a postcard entitled “Loved Ones” I encourage you to take of advantage of the offer included and make the call to set an appointment today.

If you would like to visit with Mr. Barney you can contact him at 435-673-4221 or call 435-862-0753.
