Summer Fun At Spring Gardens

Issue 34.15

With school back in session and Labor Day just a week or two away, it’s time to reflect on an eventful summer at Spring Gardens.

It all kicked off with the 2nd annual “Senior Rodeo” in May. This event featured wheelchair barrel racing, horseback riding and games. An old-fashioned photo booth captured shots of residents and guests in authentic western costumes. Cotton Candy, barbecue burgers and drinks were provided for everyone in attendance.

June brought something new this year, with early morning hot air balloon rides provided by Rocky & Dee Neal. This “bucket list” activity was a hit with everyone – even those who simply watched the fascinating balloon building process.

We traded sparks for splashes on the 4th of July, with Spring Gardens residents taking great pleasure in submerging the boss and some of his staff in the dunking booth

If that didn’t get everyone wet enough, they had a second chance at the water fight on July 24th. Water balloons and squirt guns got the activities started, but the local fire department finished the job nicely with their giant water hoses, much to the delight of the crowd!

The first week of August was the perfect time to escape the summer heat with a road trip

To Cedar Breaks National Monument. With an elevation of more than 10,000 ft, the lush green vegetation of Cedar Mountain provided a spectacular contrast to red rock pinnacles. Impressive as this was, the peak season wildflower display stole the show for the adventurous souls who made the trek.

Spring Gardens has many more great activities planned for the coming months. If you’d like to join us, checkout the calendar at www.SpringGardensSeniorLiving.com . If you can’t make it, we hope you’ll take a look at our Facebook page to find out what you missed. Either way, we know that you will “feel the difference” at Spring Gardens!
