“The Other Senior Citizens Center”

Issue 44.15

The St. George area has become one of the best known retirement communities in the United

States. More than 25,000 seniors currently call this area home, and the number will certainly

increase as aging baby-boomers discover the active lifestyle available in this warm-weather

wonderland. To meet a wide-range of physical and social needs in this rapidly expanding

community, Washington County has senior citizen’s centers in Hurricane, St. George and

Enterprise. While these 3 facilities offer tremendous service to local residents, we believe it’s

time for Spring Gardens to offer an alternative.

No, we’re not shifting our mission away from providing world-class independent living, assisted

living and memory care services. We aren’t eliminating our restaurant-style dining or

transforming our ice-cream parlour into something new. We’re simply opening our doors to allow

all seniors, resident or otherwise, to feel welcome to visit at any time! This means that those

who are 65 or better can consider themselves part of the Spring Gardens family, drop by for an

evening ice-cream cone, enjoy a free meal (please call ahead to let us know you are coming!) or

watch a Friday-night movie, complete with free popcorn. We will make a place for you at our

monthly Dementia Caregiver workshops, or you can take part in our special community events,

like the upcoming “Souper Saturday” on November 7th. And, if you don’t have a place to go for

Thanksgiving, we’re inviting you to join us for dinner. Just $8 will buy you the best turkey dinner

you’ve eaten in years, and you won’t even have to clean the dishes!

Welcome home to Spring Gardens. Just think of us as your friendly neighborhood senior

citizen’s center alternative!
