Enjoy A July 4 Celebration… With Air Conditioning!

Issue 24.16

It’s always around this time of year that I reflect on the fun that I had with my family during the summer, especially for the 4th of July. My dad would dust off the barbeque from its winter slumber, and grill up burgers and hot dogs from the soft glow of the charcoal briquettes, always armed with a squirt bottle to tame those unexpected flair ups.  My mom was inside preparing the rest of the meal. While she was working hard, we would sneak inside, and quietly try to snag a piece of watermelon or a cookie. Sometimes we would succeed, but most the time we would not, that’s because my mom, like all moms, had eyes in the back of her head.  When the food was ready we would gather outside in the backyard and sit down at our wooden picnic table covered with a plaid tablecloth to eat. I was always fighting with my siblings for more room on the bench.  After dinner we would jump in the back of the pickup to go watch the city launch off aerial fireworks as we listened to patriotic music play on the radio. It’s always been one of my favorite times of year to be proud to be an American.

With everything in life, traditions change, and nothing always stays the same.  Independence Day is quickly approaching here is Southern Utah, but this year, the traditions of old will have a new twist. Instead of holding the event at the Dixie Sun Bowl, and watching the fireworks being launched from multiple locations, this year it will be held at the football stadium at Dixie State University. It will be a fun event for the whole family with a concert, single location fireworks, and air conditioning, wait what? Yes, you read that right, for the first time we will have an air conditioned tent for those that need a break from the summer heat. The only way to get into the event though, is to have a ticket.

Being a sponsor of the event, we have been given a limited number of tickets to hand out, so we will be having a drawing to give out 26 tickets. To enter, all you need to do is send an email to info@ssairconditioning.com, with your Name, Address, and Phone number by June 22 and the winners will be notified on June 23. Winners can have their tickets mailed to them or they can be picked up in our office before July 1st. (A limit of two tickets per winner.) This is truly going to be a great beginning to a new community tradition and I can’t wait to create those new memories, with my family.

I also want to remind you, with the summer heat approaching quickly, this is the worst time of year to have an air conditioner fail, so give us a call at 435-628-4334 to schedule a tune up so you’ll be ready for the heat, and don’t forget to stop by the S&S Mechanical sponsored air conditioned tent for a chance to cool down.
