Dr. Marcos Reyes of Dixie Ophthalmic Specialists at Zion Eye Institute was recently awarded recognition as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists for 2016. Consumers’ Research Council of America, a Washington, D.C. based research organization, compiles a list of Top Doctors in each specialty throughout the United States by utilizing a point value system. This method allows a point value for criteria they deem valuable in determining top ophthalmologists. The point value system takes into consideration things like experience, education, publication of articles or profession related books/chapters and association with professional organizations. Consumers’ Research Council of America does not accept fees, donations, sponsorships, or advertising from any individuals, professionals, corporations or associations. This policy ensures an unbiased selection for the lists of America’s Top Doctors.
Dr. Reyes is an expert in glaucoma, cataract and refractive surgery. He is currently employed at Dixie Ophthalmic Specialists at Zion Eye Institute. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Utah’s Moran Eye Center. Dr. Reyes received the Joe R McFarlane Jr. Award in Ethics for Compassion, Fairness, Justice, and Integrity in 2009. He was an Assistant Professor of the University of Missouri’s Mason Eye Center from 2010-2015 before relocating to southern Utah. He has written numerous book chapters and articles regarding glaucoma and glaucoma/cataract surgery.
