Last Call… Deadline Almost Here

Issue 40.11

The deadline for the Senior Week Competitions is this Friday October 7th, but I only have 2 entries for the Dog Show, 1 couple for Pickle ball, 1 couple for Table Tennis, 1 person for swimming, none for Bridge, none for Pinochle, none for Dominoes, none for Knitting, Crocheting, Baking or Art. So I will extend the deadline to October 13th, if insufficient entries come in for these events by then, they will all be canceled as I must get my program with the calendar of events to the printers. So if you would like to take part in any of these events please act now and get your entries in as soon as possible.
I was looking forward to having a fun Dog Show as I had spoken to many of you that have dogs, who had said they wanted to take part but none of you have got your entry forms in, so if you’re still interested please get those entry forms in to me straight away as I would love to have a fun afternoon Dog Show. Senior Week is November 7th– 13th.
Don’t forget almost all your sign up fee and entry fee go to help our local Veterans furbish their new Nursing Home being built for them in Ivins, and all Monday to Thursday competitors get a free lunch. All competitors’ entry fees cover them to take part in anything we have going on that day and also to use any of the Washington Community Centers facilities. Oh, and you also get a Senior Week T-Shirt!
The only competitions that are definitely going on at this time because we have enough entries are Lawn Bowls, the Talent Show and possibly the Quilting.
We have many other interesting events taking place during each day at the Washington Community Center, a pre-paid day ticket to come and enjoy all the events of a particular day Monday to Thursday will cost $7.50 and includes lunch and the  Center is also letting you use any of their facilities throughout that day. Tickets bought at the door will cost more and not include a free lunch.
Day tickets for Friday and Saturday will cost $5 and a Saturday day pass and the Car Show will cost $8.50.
We also have a week pass for $35 that entitles entry to every day event we have taking place throughout the 6 days of Senior Week at the Washington Community Center and the use of all the Center’s facilities plus a free lunch Monday to Thursday, a pancake breakfast at Monday’s Opening Ceremony and entry to the Car Show on Saturday, (a total value of $85).
We will be inserting a program into each copy of the Senior Sampler in a few weeks so you will be able to check the calendar and decide if you want the week pass or a pass for a certain day. You can get your pre-paid tickets from the Senior Sampler Office or on our web page seniorsampler.com then click on Senior Week.
Please see our ads in this edition of the Senior Sampler for the Benefit Concert and Talent Show taking place at the Cox Theater and again don’t forget when you purchase your tickets you will be helping our local Veterans.
We hope you will come and support our event, we have been working very hard to arrange a fun week for you all and if it goes well this year we will make it an annual event and I’m sure each year the event will get better. Next year you will be able to tell us what we can put on to make it even better for you.
