Celebrate The Life And Memory Of Your Veteran Loved Ones… Place A Lovelock On The Gate

Issue 51.11

Lovelocks were inspired by an ancient custom believed to have originated in China. Around the world cities, from Moscow to Rome are filled with fences, gates and poles adorned with love padlocks. Lovelocks are designed for couples, families and friends to symbolically “lock their love.” Many of you may already have seen or heard of them as we already have two gates available in the area to fasten your Lovelocks to; one at Zion in Springdale and one on Main Street in St. George.

The Senior Sampler has been raising money throughout the year to help the new Veterans Nursing Home to be built in Ivins next year, and one of the ways they have been doing that is to sell Patriotic Lovelocks to people who want to honor and show their love for a veteran. They have been selling Patriotic Lovelocks throughout the year and thought it would be something special to have a gate just for the veterans somewhere close the nursing home so these Patriotic Lovelocks can be placed all together.

The Senior Sampler designed a gate and Debbie and Vicki of Lovelocks Inc. had the gate made. The result was beautiful as you can see in the photo.

If you already have your patriotic Lovelock and are waiting to put it on the gate, the Senior Sampler will keep you informed and let you know when it has been erected. There will be a ceremony where you can come and place your locks all together.

As you can see on the photo of the locks, a message can be engraved by you on the back of your Lovelock with a special engraving pen which the Senior Sampler has.

You will be able to purchase a Lovelock from the Senior Sampler office anytime at a cost of $15 each and all the proceeds go to the Veterans Nursing Home. So, if you haven’t got one yet for your veteran, please stop by the office and purchase one and engrave your personal message on the back so that when we announce that the gate is erected, and the date of the ceremony, you can come and place your Lovelock.
