Christmas Gifts With A Personal Touch

Issue 45.14

It seems that the commercial side of Christmas and the hustle to find gifts starts earlier each year.  We all hope that we can find that perfect gift for those we care about so they can know how much we love and appreciate them.  Often times, however, it feels like the price tag is the only measuring stick for the value of our gifts regardless of the many thoughtful hours we spend searching for just the right gift.  This year, Wood Creations would like to suggest giving a gift that has your personal touch to it….literally.  Whether you get something from our store (we would love that of course), or somewhere else that you can create for friends and family, there is something very satisfying about a do-it-yourself project.

Worried about not being crafty?  Take one of our craft classes and you’ll see that you’re craftier than you think.  We currently offer $5 classes if it’s your first time.  You buy whatever craft you want, the paper, pay the fee and everything else is taken care of.  Classes are 3 hours long with an instructor.  You use our ribbon, wire, paint, glues, glitter, etc.  Our goal is to have you leave the class with a craft you’ve completed.

If I were to walk into my parent’s home today, I would still see some of the things my brothers and sisters and I made over 20 years ago as kids.  They are certainly not pictures of perfection, but they hold a little piece of each of us in them that make them priceless.  Whatever you decide to do this Christmas season, our hope is that we can all show our love for each other by giving more of ourselves to each other than we give of the paper and plastic in our wallets.
