Last week we focused on Black Friday sales, some of which are already under way and some that start on Thanksgiving or the next day (Friday) and which have some very good deals. Small Business Saturday was created by American Express in an effort to “spread the wealth” from the big box stores with large advertising budgets to smaller mom and pop stores and local franchises or larger cooperatives. Because they don’t have big budgets for advertising, we don’t have as many specifics, but here are few of the stores and deals you may want to check out.
- Ace Hardware has good holiday deals and focuses some of them on Small Business Saturday. Coupons include 50% off one item or $10 off purchase of $50 or more. Good deals on lights, tools, decorations and heaters.
- Home Depot has One Day Only deals each day including Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. These are online only at homedepot.com
- Brent’s Interiors, Best Mattress, Beds 4 Less, Wilkinson House of Lighting and a number of auto service, building material and some professional services are also listed under American Express Small Business local listing that may be participating.
- Most of the businesses listed are restaurants and food places, but that is nice to know about when you are out and about shopping and get hungry.
Cyber Monday has special deals from some of the following as well as many more online
- Dell Inspiron 14” laptop $129, XPS 8900 i7 16 Gb desktop $699
- Amazon will show their Cyber Monday deals starting on Friday at https://www.amazon.com/Cyber-Monday/b/ref=sv_gb_2?ie=UTF8&node=5550342011 They also are showing daily deals for the holidays on their website at amazon.com
- Walmart online Cyber Monday deals include video security systems from $200, Kodak Camera (16 Megapixel) for $70, Koss headphones for $15, Vivitar Camcorder for $35 and many other items.
- Costco has many deals available starting Sunday and going through Cyber Monday. Examples are up to $500 off Vizio Ultra HD Smart TVs, up to $250 off laptop computers and a variety of cameras, phones, network routers, GPS, Security, Lighting and other products.
- There are good computer components and peripherals available from Newegg and Tiger-Direct if you a hobbyist and like do it yourself projects.
