I’d like to extend a warm welcome to the newest member of our Beehive family, Janet Labrum, who joined us recently as our new Activities Scheduler and Coordinator. Janet brings extensive experience and enthusiasm to the position. She is a most welcome addition to our staff and in a very short time has befriended residents and visitors alike.
Janet tailors our activities schedule to meet the needs & preferences of our residents. Her monthly calendars are overflowing with games & events; trips to shopping, entertainment and cultural destinations; discussion groups and educational seminars; and many learning opportunities including classes in art & genealogy. On a daily basis our Community Center buzzes with the noise of our seniors enjoying card games, dominoes, and Wii bowling tournaments along with even more entertainment than ever thanks to Janet’s creativity and enthusiasm. This month our residents have been delighted by the sounds of the Honors String Quartet from Vista Charter School, the String Orchestra from Robin Keith Music Studio, the Keynote Singers and local fiddler Clint Post. In addition, on most Fridays Arthur Kaufman from Zion’s Way thrills everyone by playing many of their sing-a-long favorites from the 70’s and 80’s.
Janet also plans outings for our residents to see local plays, events, and educational seminars. A recent trip to “Art around the corner” with local Sculptor Annette Everett included a personal trip to her private studio! There are monthly luncheons scheduled at local restaurants for our “Queen & King Bee” out to lunch bunch. Whether it is a trip to the Tabernacle for a concert or an excursion to Zion’s National Park – our activities are both engaging and challenging.
Furthermore, all of our activities are open to the public, including presentations and other special events. We also welcome groups of all ages to utilize our Community Center for their meetings and events. Everyone who walks through our doors has the opportunity to experience our warm, inviting community and our friendly, enthusiastic staff. We take great pride in the fact that our residents and staff come together to create a profound environment that enriches each individual’s experience!
