SENIOR WEEK November 7th – 12th

Thank you for all the entries for the Talent Show I knew we had a lot of Senior Talent hiding out there, we still have room for more entries if anyone else would like to take part.

For those of you reading about this for the first time the Senior Sampler is holding a special week of fun events for the over 50’s November 7th – 12th during the day time at the Washington Community Center. All the proceeds will go to help our local Veterans furbish the new Nursing home being built for them in Ivins. On the opposite page is the entry form for our competitions, so if you would still like to take part in them please get your entry form in as soon as you can we have extended the closing date to October 7th.

We have a fun Dog Show lined up for you on the Thursday afternoon November 10th. We would love for more entries for this to make it an interesting afternoon. Anyone over 50 can enter their dogs and they don’t have to be pedigrees. We have many different categories and will be giving out prizes and rosettes for each one.

So if you think your dog could be the Cutest Puppy, Best Veteran, Best Rescued Dog/Bitch, Most handsome Dog, Prettiest Bitch, has the Waggiest Tail, most Appealing Eyes, Most like its Owner, the Dog the judge would most like to take home or can do the best trick then please get them registered for our Dog Show. If you want to enter them in more than one category you can and only need to pay the $20 sign up fee and one $7 entrance fee, you needn’t pay $7 for each category.
Don’t forget the $7 covers you for joining in everything happening that day and gets you a free lunch.

We have not had any swimming entries in yet so if we have any senior Swimmers who would like to take part in the swimming event please get your entries in. Again if you would like to enter more than one category you can and just send in your entry form along with your $20 sign up fee and one $7 entry fee, and your $7 entry fee also covers you for the full day and lunch. The categories for swimming are, 50m, 100m, and 200m Breast Stroke, 50m, and 100 Back stroke, 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m free Style. The categories will also be divided into men and women and split into age groups.
So if you love to swim and can swim a length or two please enter the swimming contest, don’t forget these competitions are meant to be fun we are not aiming for them to be like the Senior Games. You don’t have to be fantastic just be able to swim and have fun.
