Oak Cabinets…Til Death Do Us Part?

Issue 22.12

Are you stuck with Oak Cabinets?  Let me tell you why I say “Stuck”.

Nhance Wood Renewal recently had a booth at the What Women Want Expo at the Dixie Center in Saint George.  Thank you ladies for a very busy and successful show!  After many conversations about our center piece display we realized many people feel trapped with their out of date or worn Oak cabinets.  “Stuck with it forever” was a phrase we heard many times.  Our center piece display is a seven foot wide Section of 20 year old golden oak cabinets. We bought them from Restore and they have been used and abused.  We divided this into 5 Sections leaving the left side untouched as the “Before”.   Progressing to the right by first restoring and renewing the worn finish, next showing a medium brown color, then a popular dark brown color, with the most notable change being on the far right with a beautiful antiqued white paint and glaze.  To this antiqued section we also added new updated Oil Rubbed Bronze handles and knobs, and topped it off with Crown Molding on the upper cabinets.  We thought the idea was brilliant and it looks amazing!  But we found ourselves consistently hearing, “I love the ones on the right but I have the Golden Oak on the left and I can’t do anything with it.  I’m stuck with it!”  It was fun to explain the process and the fact that the entire display was indeed still golden oak, renewed as new up to date cabinets.  That’s a homerun when it’s done in your home.

If you have Oak cabinets, you have possibilities.  Get unstuck!  There are many new, affordable ways to revitalize your Oak cabinets.
