Genealogy Corner… Printable Family History Trees

Issue 14.16

If you are looking for ways to bring your ancestors forward and celebrate them in an everyday sort of way, there are some great projects available now. If you already have your information in FamilySearch.org, this will be easy. If not, create a free account and build your pedigree in FamilySearch.

Go to https://familysearch.org/apps/category/charts-trees and you will see 32 apps so far that create charts and tree views from the information in Family Tree. Some of them are free or some of them create elaborate family trees with higher prices. I am not talking about the utilitarian fan chart, but some new decorative fun family history charts.

FamilySearch.org has this functionality built into the family tree to build the fan chart. There are also other apps that will do this for you. But the new décor and customized family trees are found at https://familysearch.org/campaign/keepsakes Log in and click Get Started!

FamilySearch will automatically build the artwork. You can choose to include background, your tree, whether or not to include your spouse and your spouse’s tree and to include children. If someone is missing you can click Add Family Members to add them to Family Tree. You can print directly or download for printing or sharing.

Clicking the left and right arrows on the artwork changes it to a different background instantly. To create a chart for someone else, you will need to sign in as their helper.
