ST. GEORGE, Utah — Family History Expos will celebrate its 10th anniversary at its flagship event Feb. 22-23 at the Dixie Center, 1835 Convention Center Dr., St. George, Utah.
“The first major event was held in St. George in 2005 and I am thrilled to be able to celebrate 10 years of business success with our old friends there,” Family History Expos Founder and President Holly T. Hansen said. “This is going to be an amazing Expo with top tech classes and presenters.”
The 10th anniversary theme for 2013 is, “Top 10 Techniques: Fishing for Ancestors & Other Persons of Interest.” To register visit www.FamilyHistoryExpos.com or call 801-829-3295.
At-the-door registration for this event will open Friday at 12 p.m. The last class will begin at 7:20 p.m. On Saturday, registration and exhibits will open at 9 a.m. Prize drawings will be held at the close of the event at 4 p.m.
“Family History Expos 10th anniversary marks the reality of computers coming of age. Today Smart phones, iPads, and Androids are all the rage,” Hansen said.
Keynote speaker James L. Tanner will open the show with a presentation called, “Top 10 Techniques: Fishing for Ancestors & Other Persons of Interest.” Tanner is actively involved in genealogical research. He shares his knowledge in part through Genealogy’s Star Blog. He was a featured blogger at RootsTech 2011 and 2012. Tanner is on the support staff of the FamilySearch Research Wiki and is moderator for Arizona and Utah. He is the author of “The Guide to FamilySearch Online.”
2013 St. George Family History Expo is Friday, Feb. 22 and Saturday, Feb. 23. Registration is Friday at noon at the door. Exhibits open at noon Friday until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. It is held at the Dixie Center at 1835 Convention Center Drive in St. George, Utah.
If you hurry and register before Nov. 30, 2012 you can get the early bird special of $59.
