Genealogy Corner… FamilySearch Certified Partners

Issue 9.13

“Certified” means the product is compatible with FamilySearch.org and has features that conform to their strict standards of quality. Also newsworthy, a bigger and better BillionGraves is underway since the acquisition by Otter Creek Holdings.  FamilySearch announced in January 2013 that iLived.org and FamilyHero.com are the first new certified Family Tree access applications of 2013.  Those two products join LegacyStories.org as Family Tree Connect certified.

Family Tree Access indicates that you can read FamilySearch Family Tree data from within the vendor’s application.

Family Tree Connect indicates that you can attach reference for records, images, stories, and other media about your ancestor.  These attached sources of evidence can be viewed by anyone using FamilySearch Family Tree.

iLived.org is Family Tree Access certified.  iLived is a new way to document your living history.  You can upload and associate memories with photos to your FamilySearch Family Tree.  The new iLived website and mobile app records and shares all of your family news in one place.  The best part is that iLived has partnered with FamilySearch, so you have access to FamilySearch Family Tree.

FamilyHero is Family Tree Access certified.  The new FamilyHero integration into Family Tree allows you to view and analyze your Family Tree.  FamilyHero is the only tool that provides a flat graphical view of your complete Family Tree that is not based on a pedigree chart.  Use FamilyHero to see siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles at a glance without the need for pop-up windows or view changes.  Find it at http://muddyheroes.com/FamilyHero.aspx

LegacyStories.org is now Family Tree Connect. Stories, photos, audio, or video can be associated with person in FamilySearch Family Tree. “Talking Photos” adds personal audio narration to uploaded photos.  Put the leaves on your family tree by giving voice to your ancestors.  The tutorial: http://www.legacystories.org/fsearch
