The Cost Effectiveness Of Snap-On Implant Teeth Just Got Better

Issue 8.12

It’s been a few years now since the Journal of Dental Research confirmed that snap-on implant teeth are not only better for chewing, but may actually be more cost-effective than regular dentures when quality of life factors for missing teeth are factored in– the social impact of avoiding conversations, refusing social invitations, avoiding sport, and unease when kissing, and in sexual relationships.  Nevertheless, the benefits of dental implants are still expensive.

For those that suffer from a loose lower denture, the cost of a quality entry level solution is now potentially smaller.  As denture wearers know, the lower denture is usually the trouble-maker of the two dentures because it is shaped like a wishbone and has the tongue in the middle that knocks the denture around making it difficult to control—unlike the upper one that is shaped like and behaves like a suction cup and stays in place better. This is why denture wearers are usually more satisfied with their upper denture, but find that they sometimes cannot tolerate the lower one.

For those with a lower denture that is hard to control, at least two implants are recommended as a good starting point to help the wearer control it.  However, some lower denture sufferers can obtain substantial relief with the investment of ONLY ONE dental implant correctly positioned with an understanding of fulcrum mechanics.  As remarkable as it may sound, utilizing ONLY ONE can actually sometimes give somewhat better Class II fulcrum mechanics than a denture retained by two implants.  This understanding can decrease the cost of a quality entry level lower snap-on implant denture solution and save the patient thousands of dollars.  If the high fees of dental implants have prevented you from seeking a solution for your loose lower denture please feel free to call our office at 435-674-3100 for a FREE consultation to discuss the ONLY ONE concept.
